Limited access to information is one of the factors which contribute to increased cases of Gender Based Violence (GBV) at community level. Thus, has embarked on promoting equal opportunities for both young men and women through the promotion of gender transformation at various levels in Mangochi district.
In this endeavour, YONECO is engaging young people in secondary schools and tertiary institutions within the district with an aim of imparting the youth with knowledge and skills on how they can advocate for equal opportunities for both men and women in their areas.
Further to this, YONECO has also facilitated the establishment of a Youth Hub at Mangochi Technical College. The hub provides safe space for students to learn and share their knowledge and experiences on various issues that affect them including GBV.
